NYC Pawcademy is now a recommended dog trainer
for NYC's top animal rescues.
Moving foreword we will lend a paw to help the animals of these rescues get adopted! It is relatively common knowledge that a trained dog has a better chance of not only getting a home but keeping their furever home! To no cost on the rescues part we will be training dogs to have proper manners for day to day NYC life!
"Lisa McCluskey, a certified professional dog trainer and certified canine behavior consultant, described a study she conducted to measure whether instituting a canine companion training curriculum could reduce return rates in a “no-kill” shelter environment. The study found that dogs that attended training were 2.63 times as likely to stay in their adoptive home. Her conclusion: A training curriculum can substantially reduce the return rate."*

BARC Shelter
BARC’S mission is to provide a safe haven for abandoned animals and to find permanent loving homes for them. While in our care, we provide them with quality food, shelter, medical attention, and love they deserve. Situated int he heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn we take in animals who need love and a new home. As a not-for-profit, no-kill 501c3 organization we stand by the idea that every animal is worth saving, worth a home, and worth love. WE ARE PROUD TO BE A NO KILL SHELTER.
PupStarz Rescue
PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue serving New York City and the Tri-State area. We are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs in public shelters who are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation and those in danger of abuse or neglect. Because PupStarz Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our "Starz" are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await adoption into a forever home. We rely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers to open their hearts and homes to dogs in need. Our non-profit remains committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process.
