AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start.
​Organized training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy and also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you'll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead in to the adult and gold standard, AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program. You'll attend this program for 6 classes. Your expert trainer will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at the end of the course.

AKC C.G.C.

The AKC's Canine Good Citizen program  is recognized as the gold standard for dog behavior.
All dogs, including both purebred and mixed breed dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program. There is no age limit for either test, a dog is never too old to be a good citizen. The CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. 
This programs is perfect for pet parents who want to begin their journey to have their dog be emotional support dogs, service dogs, and therapy dogs! Some therapy dog organizations require a dog to obtain a CGC certificate as a prerequisite before visiting hospitals, hospice, nursing homes etc.

All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. You'll attend this program for 6 classes. Your expert trainer will administer the AKC C.G.C test at the end of the course.

AKC C.G.C.U.

Once you have successfully completed your C.G.C package and passed the test you can opt in for one or both of the next level AKC Community Canine programs. ​
By this time you have completed basic obedience and have solid trust between you and your pup. As with Canine Good Citizen, AKC Urban CGC has a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official title. AKC Urban CGC requires that the dog demonstrate CGC skills and beyond in an urban setting set up by your experienced trainer. 
This programs is perfect for pet parents who want to continue their journey to have their dog be emotional support dogs, service dogs, and therapy dogs while maintaining a city life.
This is a 3 class package to help reinforce an array of situations and distractions your dog will face in any and all environments. This is a title that appears on the dog's title record at AKC no matter if they're purebred or not.

AKC C.G.C.A.

Once you have successfully completed your C.G.C package and passed the test you can opt in for one or both of the next level AKC Community Canine programs. 
AKC Community Canine is the advanced level of AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program. As with CGC, AKC Community Canine has a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Community Canine title. By this time you have completed basic obedience and have solid trust between you and your pup. 
This programs is perfect for pet parents who want to successfully perfect their journey to have their dog be emotional support dogs, service dogs, and therapy dogs!
This is a 3 class package to help reinforce an array of situations and distractions your dog will face in any and all environments. This is a title that appears on the dog's title record at AKC no matter if they're purebred or not.
